Relation to other Disciplines
In order to infer or know an artifact’s meaning or use, it maybe necessary to take a further step by using some disciplines from physical and natural sciences. Geology, Climatology, Paleobotany, Paleontology, Mineralogy, Physics, Chemistry, and Synthesis are just a few sciences used to solve the artifact’s mystery. Each type of science is part of a key to open up a secret past to the artifact. Without some of these sciences, artifacts might not even reveal the true meaning. Sometimes, it is necessary to know scientifical evidence to get anything done in the modern archaeology world.

Geology helps in finding the location of the actual artifact. Without geology, every artifact found would just be a coincidence or just simply luck. Also, with the information of the location, you can find out more about the artifact and where it’s story behind it. Climatology determines the weather at the time of the existence of this artifact. With both Climatology and Paleobotany the weather and time frame that an artifact existed in would be clearer. Paleontology helps classify different types of bones and this especially helps when artists make replicas of bones (i.e. dinosaurs). Mineralogists compare and contrast modern minerals to ancient minerals found on artifacts. Physics basically just helps find the rate of decay. With this information and collaboration with the climatologists the actual date of the artifact could be found easily. Chemistry is mostly for indentifying evidence that cannot be seen. Synthesis has mostly to do with anthropology.

With the collaboration of all these sciences it is definite or nearly definite that artifact will become uncovered and an open book. It takes all these little parts in order to discover something great.
